Legend Nyamplungan

Karimun name according to local folklore can not be separated from the figure sunan Nyamplung, real name Syech Amir Hasan, the son of Sunan Muria. Childhood, he lived pampered so when you get older, he became inclined naughty. Sunan Muria was trying to educate his son in order to be better, but always failed. Sunan Muria finally entrusted his son to the Sunan Kudus, hoping to be better.

Under the guidance of Sunan Kudus, Amir Hasan indeed become a better person and obedient, so she returned to her family. But once reunited with his family, Amir Hasan's behavior returned to normal.

Sunan Muria was concerned, and finally ordered his son to go down the mountain Muria and practice the science of religion on the island which seems to be "kremun-kremun" (not clear) when viewed from Mount Muria. Sunan Muria and Amir Hasan also said that should not be returned to the island of Java before the job is completed.

Armed with two Nyamplung fruit seeds to be planted on the island destination, and mustaka mosque (to date still in the tomb of Sunan Nyamplungan complex), and accompanied by two men servants, Amir Hasan was eventually started his journey. Once up and find a suitable place to live, Amir Hasan then plant two seeds Nyamplung fruit brought from Java. Plants that grow from both seed Nyamplung this is what is now known as Nyamplung trees and their location Nyamplung named hamlet.
