EBay and Paypal sues 3.8 Billion Dollars
Connecticut, KOMPAS.com - EBay Inc., the leading online commerce site in the United States, and PayPal Inc. sued for 3.8 billion U.S. dollars. Both sites have been accused of violating patents related XPRT Ventures LLC online commerce payment system (e-commerce).
XPRT, a company based in Greenwich, Connecticut, has filed suit to the District Court in Wilmington, Delaware. In its lawsuit, pointing XPRT EBay violating six patents for online payments. In addition, the site also was accused of leaking trade secrets by distributing information on patent applications.
XPRT EBay considers these actions are not fair. They think EBay has stolen the idea and the payment method they found.
EBay would not speak much about this lawsuit. "We are studying the lawsuit," said Alina Piancentino, EBay spokesman in San Jose, California. (Cash / Edy Can)
